Hardware Design
From Concept to Production
LaurTec Engineering provides professional hardware design services, supporting customers from the initial project concept through prototype development and first production.
The process starts with a detailed discussion of the project requirements and its technical and commercial feasibility. We proactively identify the key aspects that can influence the success of the product, helping the customer make informed decisions from the earliest stages. The objective is not only to create a technically successful solution, but also to ensure that the product is realistic, manufacturable, and aligned with its intended market.
Hardware Development
The hardware development process can include the design and implementation of dedicated subsystems for validating individual functions, followed by the complete electrical schematic and PCB design. Particular attention is given to applicable standards and regulatory requirements, with a strong focus on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
Years of practical EMC experience make LaurTec Engineering a strong partner for developing robust electronic products and reducing EMC-related risks before production. Extensive experience in PCB design and layout also enables the development of compact, reliable, and production-oriented boards, with careful consideration of signal integrity, power distribution, grounding, component placement, and manufacturability.
CAD and Design Tools
LaurTec Engineering works with different CAD environments, using the customer's licensed tools when required to ensure compatibility with existing development workflows. For projects where a dedicated commercial license is not available or required, KiCad and other suitable tools can also be used for direct design activities.
Prototype Manufacturing
Once the schematic and PCB have been completed, LaurTec Engineering can support the production of the first prototypes. In-house assembly capabilities allow selected prototype boards to be assembled quickly, significantly reducing the time between PCB completion and first hardware evaluation.
The in-house process supports fine-pitch and compact components, including QFN packages and 0402-size passive components, enabling a rapid transition from schematic to PCB and from PCB to a functional first prototype.
Support Through First Production
After the prototype has been assembled, tested, and the different parts of the system have been validated, LaurTec Engineering continues to support the customer during the transition to first production. This includes technical support, prototype refinement, manufacturing preparation, and assistance in resolving issues identified during the initial production phase.
This end-to-end approach provides a single engineering partner throughout the development process, helping customers move efficiently from concept and feasibility to a tested and production-ready electronic product.
