Hall and Magnetoresistive magnetic sensors
We are completely surrounded by the earth's magnetic field, but none of our five senses can feel feel it, our only experience of its presence is usually based on a compass. In this tutorial it will be presented the Hall effect sensors, illustrating examples to detect magnetic fields generated by permanent magnets. Finally the magnetoresestive sensors will be presented. These represent the state of the art ofsolid state magnetic sensors. Their sensitivity is such that can be used to detect magnetic fields invisible to the Hall-effect sensors.
