Every time that we need to interface the PC with a system that uses the CAN bus, we need a protocol converter to let the communication happen. In the following project (L2000-30004) an RS232-CAN converter is presented. The project has been developed using the Freedom embedded system, appropriately extended with a CAN transceiver. The system supports CAN 2.0A and B and can be used as diagnosis instrument.
